Why hello and thank you for taking the time to read this very special blog post. I am here to tell you I am excited to be showing up here and sharing some wonderful, important and special people with you. I decided to begin getting back into blog writing with a little series. I have been feeling immense gratitude recently (even my reiki healer picked up on it!) and I wouldn’t have been able to feel this without a few special ladies that I would like to introduce to you.
First up, we’ve got one of my beautiful best friends. Now, I don’t want you to feel like these people are “just” a bunch of my friends. Even though they are, I have known them all for a very long time, but that is how I value our friendship. Capricorn over here so I am very loyal! These ladies that I have asked to be featured in this series are powerhouses! They are super inspiring and uplifting and I am thankful to have met them. Even though one of them I’ve known since I was 5 years old and I may or may not have screamed in her face when we first met. I hope you enjoy getting to know these ladies a bit more and enjoy the read!
Tell us a bit about yourself and what businesses you have?
I’m 23 years old! I work full time in real estate selling homes in the Camden and Macarthur areas. I’ve been in sales for 4 years now. I have 2 businesses, Life Thread Boutique which is my creative biz where I hand make embroidered wall hangings and also sell DIY embroidery kits. My newest biz is Higher Love which is all about helping millennial’s meditate and tap into their spirituality.
Can you remember the first time we met? What were your first impressions?
We met about 7 years ago. I was 16 years old (gosh)! I can’t remember the exact moment but all I remember was us being shy at first then after that we instantly got along. I remember thinking, my gosh she’s so young, she’s married and has a house already hahaha random first impression. But I also remember thinking about how much I loved your energy and how I felt we were so similar.
What advice do you have for someone who wants to introduce meditating and visualisation practices into their life?
I would say it’s important to start with the basics. To get to know how to breathe properly and calm your mind. I think it’s so important to recognise when you need to meditate and to learn to use meditation and visualisations as your safe place to go when you’re feeling life overwhelm or you want to improve your mood.
Meditation really grounds me and enables me to see clearer. It’s also very calming. Visualisation is SOOOO amazing as it opens your mind to your future and all the things that are there for you and that you can manifest. I love to call on my guides when I’m visualising my life so that they can show me what I need to see. It’s such a vibe lifting practise that always leaves me hopeful and excited for the future, it also gives me so much drive to achieve what I see.
What is the favourite part of your business?
Working with and getting to know people definitely. But my absolute favourite part is when I’m helping someone meditate and we then open our eyes and they tell me all they saw and how they felt and how amazing the experience was for them. That lights me the heck up! I LOVE the fact that I’m helping them help themselves and that they are enjoying the experience.
What kinds of acts of self care do you do on a regular basis?
To me self care is anything and everything that is purely for you and that makes you feel good. It could be as simple as putting some makeup on in the morning. I meditate daily, it just helps me calm my mind and feel connected and grounded. Sometimes only 5 mins a day is enough, other days I could meditate for an hour. I love to look after my skin, so weekly ill do a scrub and face mask. My life is always busy because I have so many roles so I always take one night a week off where I do absolutely nothing but watch Netflix and relax it’s my ‘me’ time.
What advice would you give a female solopreneur for running her own business?
My biggest piece of advice would have to be, just go for it! If you’ve been tossing up with the idea for a while and it excites you and also makes you nervous it probably because it’s meant to be and you’re really passionate! So do it. I would also say, don’t be afraid of being different and showing the world your uniqueness. Sometimes it’s hard to launch a business that’s ‘different’ to the norm for fear of what everyone will think, but being authentically you and showing your passion will always attract in your tribe. So don’t be afraid, just go for it.
Who is one of your biggest inspirations and why?
It’s way too hard to pick one! SO, I’m sorry but I have to share 2. My biggest spiritual inspiration has to be Gabby Bernstein, she literally changed her life completely by using her spirituality to help herself and others. She went from addiction and depression to this successful and inspirational women all by her faith in her ability and the universe and putting into practise all that she had learnt to build the most amazing life and career. But also, my mum. My mum has worked her absolute butt off to be where she is today. She raised 4 girls on her own for many years. At one stage worked 3 jobs! I admire my mum for her determination and hard work. We had to sell our family home when I was younger, and our family went through some hard times but my mum never stopped working and hustling for us and herself. I don’t know how she did it, but one of the defining moments I remember was when she told us, girls, we were going to buy a house. We had been renting for maybe 5 or so years and mum had been working so hard and saving so much she finally had enough money to buy a house. I just remember thinking how proud I was of her and how excited I was. Fast forward 5 years she’s hustled so hard and now owns her own business with her husband and biz partner and is ranked number 68 in the REB top 100 agents in Australia. I look at her and think, holy heck I am so lucky to have you as my mum and I literally want to be you hahaha. YEP, she’s beyond inspirational to me.
What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
Hmmm so many come to mind, but I love this piece of advice. They are going to judge you anyway, so you may as well do what you really want to do and enjoy it because you’re not doing it for them. You’re doing it for you!
How do you show gratitude and gifting in your business?
When I receive a new client I love to send them a little welcome gift to show them how grateful I am for them coming on this journey with me, the gift always includes things that are going to help them along the way. It makes me so happy to surprise them with something, I get excited to gift things to people. That’s why I couldn’t imagine working with anyone else other than Teresa, she literally feels the exact same way. She gets giddy and excited about the process which makes it even more special. She also makes it super easy and thinks of things to include that I never would!
